Frontierland Feasts: My Disney College Program Journey at Pecos Bill’s

Welcome back to my Disney College Program journey! This time, I’m taking you to the heart of the Wild West, Frontierland, where I had the privilege of working at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe during my second program in 2016.

A Taste of the Old West

Pecos Bill’s is a quintessential western-style eatery, offering hearty meals for the hungry adventurers exploring Frontierland. From burgers to Tex-Mex delights, this restaurant provides a taste of the Old West with a Disney twist.

The Buffet Transformation

During my first program, one standout feature was the buffet-style topping bar. You could load up on your favorite toppings to create the perfect meal. However, on my return visit, I noticed a significant change. The buffet was gone, replaced by packets of toppings that guests could take to their seats. While this streamlined the process, it did bring a sense of nostalgia for the buffet days.

Finding a Seat at Pecos Bill’s

As any parent knows, finding a comfortable spot for your family to enjoy a meal in a bustling theme park can be a challenge. If Pecos Bill’s is crowded during your visit, don’t hesitate to ask a cast member for assistance in locating an available table. They’re there to help make your experience as enjoyable as possible.

A Kind Gesture Goes a Long Way

One memory that stands out during my time at Pecos Bill’s was the opportunity to make a guest’s day a little more magical. I encountered a grandmother who was spending the day with her family but was experiencing discomfort due to sore feet. While such instances were rare, I approached our leader to see what we could do. The result? I was able to provide her with FastPasses, ensuring she could enjoy her favorite ride without the discomfort of standing in line.

Disney Food & Wine Festival Delights

In addition to Frontierland, I also had the chance to work at the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival during my second program. This was an absolute highlight for any foodie. Cast members, like myself, were well-versed in the dishes offered at the various country stands. Many of the ingredients were imported from the countries themselves, providing an authentic culinary experience.

If you or your little ones have dietary restrictions or preferences, don’t hesitate to ask a cast member for guidance. Disney is dedicated to accommodating all guests and ensuring everyone can savor the magic.

The Journey Continues

My time at Pecos Bill’s and the Food & Wine Festival left me with wonderful memories and insights into the world of Disney. As my journey unfolds, I’m excited to share more tips, stories, and behind-the-scenes adventures with you.
